No lie, I was shaking when they announced Phillip Phillips as the winner. For me, he’s been the standout of the season. From his audition right up until the end of the finale, he brought something different & unique. Something I’ve been waiting to see on the show for a long time. I am honestly so happy for him & I know he’ll go on to do amazing things in his career ahead! Jessica may have had the powerful vocals, which believe me, they are incredible for someone her age & I have no doubt she’ll do amazingly as well. For me though, each & every week, Phillips always made the songs his own, & when he performed each week, it was like, as Randy put it, “We’re at a Phillip Phillip’s concert”. I couldn’t agree more, because that’s what I saw to. Now people don’t need to be so harsh on him, so he doesn’t have the vocal ability like Jessica has, but damn, he sure can sing as well as her, in that husky, smoky voice of his. Listen to the likes of James Morrison, his voice is quite similar & it’s amazing! Phillips is an incredible talent. He’ll conquer the world, just you wait and see. Once again, congrats Phillip, you did it! You’ve remained humble throughout & you deserve all the best in everything you do now. Once a Philatic, always a Philatic.
